Jonathan Firth

Jonathan Firth (born April 6, 1967 in Essex , England ) is a British actor .

Life and accomplishments

Colin Firth's younger brother graduated from London's Central School of Speech and Drama in 1989 . He made his debut in 1990 in one of the leading roles in the miniseries Centrepoint . In the comedy American Girlfriends he appeared alongside Connie Booth , Michael Palin and Alfred Molina . In 1994 he appeared in the award-winning miniseries Middlemarch based on the Victorian novel of the same name by George Eliot . In 1997 he appeared in the pilot for the Inspector Barnaby series.

In the 2001 film drama Victoria & Albert , in which Firth appeared alongside Victoria Hamilton , Peter Ustinov , John Wood and Jonathan Pryce , he played the British Prince Consort Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha . He played another leading role as Hieronymus Aleander in the 2003 film biography Luther .

Firth's older brother is the actor and Oscar winner Colin Firth .
