Jonathan "Jona" Mejía Ruiz (born January 7, 1989 in Málaga ) is a Honduran football player of Spanish origin.

Career

society

Jona started his career in his hometown with FC Málaga . In 2008 he moved to third division club Lorca Deportiva . After relegation to the Tercera División , he moved to the third division UD Melilla in summer 2009 . In the summer of 2010 he joined Deportivo La Coruña B , the second team of Deportivo La Coruña . For the 2011/12 season he moved to FC Zamora . That season he scored twelve goals in 36 league games.

In the summer of 2012 he switched to the Ourense CD . In January 2013 he became the first division side FC Granada committed, but just after Portugal at Vitória Guimarães awarded. He made his debut in the Primeira Liga in March 2013 against Académica de Coimbra . At the end of the season, Jona had three games in the Primeira Liga and two games for Vitória B in the Segunda Liga .

In July 2013 he was awarded to the Spanish second division club Real Jaén . He made his debut in the Segunda División on the first day of the 2013/14 season against SD Eibar . At the end of the season he had 39 games in which he scored 16 goals to book. With Jaén However, he had in the Segunda División B dismount.

For the 2014/15 season he was loaned to the third division club FC Cádiz . In 32 games, Jona scored 18 goals in the Segunda División B. Jonah decided to play for his father's homeland. He made his debut for Honduras in June 2013 in a friendly against Israel . With Honduras, he took part in the Copa Centroamericana in 2014 and reached fifth place.

Jonas father Leonidas comes from Tegucigalpa in Honduras . His brother Antonio Moreno Ruiz played for Sevilla Atlético in the Segunda División .
