Jonathan Voltzok

Jonathan Voltzok ( Hebrew יונתן וולצ'וק, also Yonatan Voltzok , * 1983 ) is an Israeli jazz musician ( trombone , composition ) of modern jazz .

Live and act

Jonathan Voltzok began playing the trombone and euphonium at the age of six ; at the age of 15 he had his first professional appearances with musicians from the Israeli music scene. With a grant from the American-Israeli Cultural Foundation (AICF), which he received in 2004, he studied in the jazz program of the New School in New York City, which he graduated with honors in 2008. Since then he has worked in the New York jazz scene with musicians such as James Moody , Slide Hampton , the Dizzy Gillespie All Star Band , Jimmy Heath , Paquito D'Rivera , Junior Mance , Roy Hargrove , Randy Brecker , Frank Wess , Steve Davis , Antonio Hart , Anat Cohen , Gregory Hutchinson , Avishai Cohen , Assaf Hakimi, and Joel Frahm ; he is also a member of the Fat Cat Big Band . Currently (2019) he also appears with the Asaf Yuria Exorcisms Sextet .

Voltzok released the album More to Come in 2008 under his own name . In the field of jazz he was involved in eight recording sessions between 2006 and 2011, according to Tom Lord ; He also recorded in Israel with the dub band Zvuloon Dub System .
