Jorge Manrique Hurtado

Jorge Manrique Hurtado (born April 19, 1911 in La Paz , Bolivia , † July 15, 1995 ) was Archbishop of La Paz .

Life

Jorge Manrique Hurtado received on 23 September 1939, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 23, 1952, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Hadrumetum and auxiliary bishop . in La Paz, the apostolic nuncio in Bolivia, Archbishop Sergio Pignedoli , he donated on May 4 of that year episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Oruro , Berthold Bühl OFM , and the Archbishop of La Paz, Abel Isidoro Antezana y Rojas CMF .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on July 28, 1956 Bishop of Oruro. On July 27, 1967, Pope Paul VI appointed him . as Archbishop of La Paz. On February 24, 1987, Pope John Paul II accepted the resignation put forward by Jorge Manrique Hurtado for reasons of age.

Jorge Manrique Hurtado attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
