Luis Aníbal Rodríguez Pardo (born January 12, 1915 in Punata , † March 26, 2004 ) was Archbishop of Santa Cruz de la Sierra .

Life

Luis Aníbal Rodríguez Pardo was ordained a priest on May 15, 1938 .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on June 6, 1952 auxiliary bishop in Santa Cruz de la Sierra and titular bishop of Thennesus . The Apostolic Nuncio in Bolivia, Archbishop Sergio Pignedoli , donated him episcopal ordination on October 5th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Juan Tarsicio Senner OFM , Bishop of Cochabamba , and Augustin Arce Mostajo , Bishop of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

The Pope appointed him Bishop of Oruro on June 17, 1953 . On July 28, 1956 he was appointed coadjutor bishop of Cochabamba and titular bishop of Gergis . He was appointed bishop of Santa Cruz de la Sierra on May 22, 1958, and was installed in office on August 5 of the same year.

Pope John XXIII appointed him on July 26, 1961 military vicar of Bolivia . He resigned from this office on July 30, 1975. He attended all the sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father. Pope Paul VI elevated the diocese to an archbishopric on July 30, 1975 and appointed him archbishop of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. On February 6, 1991, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
