The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cochabamba (Latin Archidioecesis Cochabambensis , Spanish Arquidiócesis de Cochabamba ) is one in Bolivia situated Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Cochabamba .

Cochabamba Cathedral

history

The diocese of Cochabamba was on June 25, 1847 by Pope Pius IX. Erected with the Papal Bull Ubique pateat . It was subordinate to the Archdiocese of La Paz as a suffragan . On December 11, 1961, the diocese gave parts of its territory to establish the territorial prelature Aiquile . On July 30, 1975, the diocese of Cochabamba by Pope Paul VI. raised to an archbishopric with the papal bull Quo gravius .
