José Luis Retana Gozalo (born March 12, 1953 in Pedro Bernardo , province of Avila ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Plasencia .
Life
José Luis Retana Gozalo received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Avila on September 29, 1979 .
On March 9, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Plasencia. The Archbishop of Valladolid , Cardinal Ricardo Blázquez Pérez , ordained him episcopal on June 24 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Mérida-Badajoz , Celso Morga Iruzubieta , and the Bishop of Ávila, Jesús García Burillo .
