Josef Egger (born March 23, 1959 in Taxenbach ) is an Austrian politician ( NEOS ). Since June 2018 he has been a member of the Salzburg State Parliament .

Life

After finishing primary and secondary school in Taxenbach, Josef Egger attended the polytechnic course in Lend in 1973/74 . He then completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter at Salzburger Aluminum AG. After military service in 1978/79, he retrained to work in the construction industry. From 1983 to 1991 he was department head of a medium-sized building materials production company in Maishofen . Since 1991 he has been an independent entrepreneur in the auxiliary construction and ancillary construction trade in Zell am See . In 2010 he began a part-time master’s degree with a focus on business administration and international management at the Austrian Manager Academy in Vienna , which he completed in 2013 as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). In 2014 he also started a part-time master’s degree in organization and management.

In Zell am See he was a city ​​councilor from 2014 to 2016 and is a non-partisan member of the municipal council in the ÖVP parliamentary group . In the state elections in Salzburg in 2018 , he ran for NEOS - The New Austria and Liberal Forum behind Sepp Schellhorn and Andrea Klambauer in third place on the state list.
