Josef Eichner

Josef Eichner (born October 12, 1899 in Baiernrain , † August 9, 1979 in Dietramszell ) was a German politician of the Bavarian Party .

Life and work

Josef Eichner was the son of the farmer Balthasar Eichner , who belonged to the Bavarian State Parliament for the Bavarian People's Party from 1919 to 1924 . After completing agricultural training in his parents 'property and at the agricultural schools in Ottobeuren and Landsberg am Lech , he took over his parents' business in 1930. In 1946 he became chairman of the Bavarian Milk and Fat Association.

Eichner, who was a Roman Catholic , had been a member of the Bavarian Party since 1947 and became its district chairman for Upper Bavaria in 1949 .

He was a member of the German Bundestag from its first election in 1949 to 1953. He was directly elected in the constituency of Miesbach with 23.4% of the vote and a narrow lead over his CSU competitor (22.8%) . To date, this is the lowest percentage of votes with which a candidate was able to win his constituency. In the federal elections in 1953 and 1957 , he ran for the BP and the FU , but did not get into parliament.
