Josef Gisela
Josef Gisela (actually Josef Urban Rezniček , born November 17, 1851 in Klattau , † August 24, 1899 in Vienna ) was an Austrian genre painter .
Josef Urban Rezniček studied from 1868 to 1878 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Anselm Feuerbach , Heinrich von Angeli and Eduard Engerth .
In 1872 he was awarded the Lampi Prize. In 1887 Rezniček took the stage name Josef Gisela. In 1888 he became a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus and from 1885 exhibited his works at its exhibitions. He was friends with the painters Carl Zewy , Isidor Kaufmann and Johann Hamza .
Gisela became known for his genre paintings.
