Josef gloss
Josef Glanz (born January 3, 1795 in Lemberg , † November 22, 1866 in Vienna ) was an Austrian ground squirrel , medalist and sculptor .
Life
Glanz was the son of a civil servant and studied at the ore intersection school of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts . From 1819 he worked as a chaser and goldsmith in Berlin , where he was also employed in the Berlin royal iron foundry from 1830 . Just one year later, in 1831, Joseph Glanz founded his own iron and bronze foundry in Vienna on the Wieden ("State Authorized Bronze and Iron Casting Factory"). The Viennese sculptor Johann Preleuthner and the ore caster Carl Turbain worked together brilliantly and influenced him artistically.
Glamor cast small works of art in iron , bronze and silver . From 1837 he also cast monumental sculptures . In 1851 he led the by officers donated the Austrian army baton of Field Marshal Radetzky from. Joseph Glanz is considered one of the most important art founders of the Viennese Biedermeier period and has received numerous honors and awards.
