Josef Hanauer

Josef Hanauer (born March 15, 1913 in Putzhof ; † December 2, 2003 in Regensburg ) was a Roman Catholic pastor and publicist .

Josef Hanauer studied Catholic theology and was ordained a priest on March 19, 1938 . He later received his doctorate with a thesis on church history .

On April 1, 1938, Hanauer began as a chaplain in Eilsbrunn and then went to Hirschau on March 16, 1940 . Shortly afterwards, on April 22, 1940, he was drafted into military service. After his release from captivity on June 27, 1945, he went back to Hirschau. From July 16, 1947 he was an expositus in Bubach am Forst (today a district of Holzheim am Forst ). On September 1, 1955 he became a religion teacher at the old grammar school in Regensburg, which was renamed the Albertus Magnus grammar school (AMG) in 1962 . On August 1, 1975, he retired as Director of Studies at AMG.

Hanauer appeared publicly when he studied the certificates about the Resl von Konnersreuth and in 1967 self-published his first book about it. He has authored numerous books that deal critically with the phenomenon of so-called miraculous or Marian apparitions .

He also worked as a local researcher on the history of the Eslarn market .
