Putzhof is a district of the Eslarn market in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab .
Geographical location
Putzhof is located around 5 km south of Eslarn on a cleared area on the pass road to Oberlangau . To the south of Putzhof, the 808.6 m high Stangenberg- Stückberg massif forms the border with the Schwandorf district. The neighboring towns are in the southwest Oberaltmannsrieth , in the northeast Gmeinsrieth and Premhof .
history
Putzhof is one of the oldest settlement sites that emerged at the beginning of the 11th century when the area of today's Eslarn was cleared and settled. These oldest settlements are the current districts of Büchelberg, Putzhof, Oberaltmannsrieth, Putzenrieth, Paßenrieth, Gmeinsrieth (originally: Mansenrieth) and Öd (originally: Behaimrieth, which is Böhmer- or Böhmischrieth). The place name comes from "Hof des Putzo". The descendants of Putzo also founded Putzenrieth to the west.
After the lost battle on the White Mountain , three companies of the English, which Jacob I had made available to his son-in-law Friedrich V (Winter King) , marched on December 2, 1620 , coming from Eslarn through Putzhof to Oberlangau.
In 1628 Putzhof had two farms, a Sölde and a hut and paid 9 guilders 8 ½ Kreuzer annual tax.
After the end of the Thirty Years' War , Putzhof still had four households.
On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Putzhof was listed as part of the Eslarn parish with 3 houses and 23 residents. On December 31, 1990, Putzhof had 13 residents and belonged to the parish of Eslarn.
