Putzenrieth is a district of the Eslarn market in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab .

Geographical location

Putzenrieth is located around 3 km west of Eslarn on a cleared area on state road 2155 to Moosbach . The neighboring towns are Thomasgschieß in the north, Eslarn in the east, Roßtränk in the south and Ödbraunetsrieth in the west .

history

Putzenrieth is one of the oldest settlement sites that emerged at the beginning of the 11th century when the area of ​​today's Eslarn was cleared and settled. These oldest settlements are the current districts of Büchelberg, Putzhof, Oberaltmannsrieth, Putzenrieth, Paßenrieth, Gmeinsrieth (originally: Mansenrieth) and Öd (originally: Behaimrieth, which is Böhmer- or Böhmischrieth). The ending -rieth indicates clearing. The descendants of Putzo, who sat in Putzhof , founded Putzenrieth to the west.

In 1204 Ottokar I. Putzenrieth was destroyed. It was then desolate and was not colonized again until 1324 by Abbot Hermann von Kastl . The 8 farms established there were made into Kastl's interest goods.

In 1628 Putzenrieth paid 11 guilders 49 Kreuzer annual tax.

After the end of the Thirty Years' War , Putzenrieth still had five households.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Putzenrieth was listed as part of the Eslarn parish with 6 houses and 54 residents. On December 31, 1990 Putzenrieth had 13 residents and belonged to the parish of Eslarn.
