Zankltrad is a community area of Bavaria's market Eslarn in Neustadt an der Waldnaab , administrative region Upper Palatinate .

Geographical location

Zankltrad is about one kilometer north of Eslarn on the northern slope of the 568 m high Eslarner Kalvarienberg. The neighboring towns are Büchelberg in the east, Eslarn in the south and Thomasgschieß in the west .

At Zankltrad, quartz used to be mined for road gravel, which rose above the surroundings as a rock at house height. The quartz passage runs from Kreuth over the Kalvarienberg through the Zanklholz to Hagendorf and turns there to the west, where it forms the rose quartz rock in Pleystein . It continues over Roggenstein and ends in Neustadt an der Waldnaab .
