Josef Haufellner

Josef Haufellner (* 1911 ; † June 30, 1970 ) was a Bavarian politician ( CSU ). He was the district council president of Lower Bavaria .

Life

Haufellner was mayor of Landau an der Isar from 1948 to 1956 , including during the floods of 1954 . In 1951, as mayor, at the request of Catholic Bishop Simon Konrad Landersdorfer, the local parliament passed a unanimous resolution that The Sinner should not be shown in the Lower Bavarian city. Professionally, Haufellner was the head of the OBAG headquarters in Landshut. In 1958 he was also elected Vice President of the Lower Bavaria District Assembly. From 1962 until his unexpected death in 1970, he was the successor to Franz Graf von Spreti as the district council president . An important result of his tenure was the expansion of the energy supply in the eastern part of Lower Bavaria. He also campaigned for the establishment of a university in Passau .
