Josef Keindl
Josef A. Keindl (born November 20, 1903 as Josef August Keindl in Vienna ; † December 16, 2007 there ) was an Austrian high school teacher and geographer .
Life
Born in Vienna, Josef Keindl turned to the Matura studying geography and biology at the University of Vienna to 1926 he was at Eduard Brückner with the geomorphological work "Pielachtal, a talgeschichtliche investigation" doctorate . In the following year he entered the school service as a professor of biology at the Bundesgymnasium Wien-Penzing, which the later appointed senior student councilor held until his retirement.
Josef Keindl also completed his habilitation in 1942 in geography at the University of Vienna. In 1948 Keindl took on a teaching position at the Institute for Economic Geography at the University of World Trade , which he held until 1966. In 1955 Keindl received a lectureship in special teaching at the Geography Institute of the University of Vienna, which he resigned in 1968. Josef Keindl, who was accepted into the Austrian Geographical Society in 1929, made a name for himself with contributions to economic and physiogeography , natural philosophy and education.
