Josef Menauer (born May 10, 1983 in Landau an der Isar ) is a German ice hockey player who was last under contract with EV Regensburg in the Oberliga Süd until 2013 .

Career

Josef Menauer played from 2000 to 2002 at Deggendorfer SC in the ice hockey league and in the junior Bundesliga. In 2002 he moved to the DEL club Nürnberg Ice Tigers . In the 2002/03 season, however, the right-handed shooter played with a support license exclusively for the Straubing Tigers from the 2nd Bundesliga . In the following two years, the striker played 82 games for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers, in which he scored five goals. He also ran in the 2004/05 season in three games for the second division 1. EV Weiden . In 2005 he switched to the Augsburg Panthers , who also compete in the top German division. The winger was active in Augsburg for two years and wore the Panther jersey in 91 games. In 2006 Menauer returned to Straubing, where his father Sepp Menauer had already been active in the 1970s. In the 2007/08 season , the right-handed shooter laced his skates for the first division club. At the beginning of the 2008/09 season , the striker played two games for the Gäubodenstädter before moving to the Landshut Cannibals from the 2nd Bundesliga. There he initially received a one-year contract, which was extended early in April 2009. In May 2010 the EV Regensburg announced that Josef Menauer was signed for the coming 2010/11 season . After the 2012/13 season Menauer left EV Regensburg.

International

Menauer was added to the extended squad of the German national team in 2003. The Lower Bavarian played six times for Germany, but tore a cruciate ligament , after which he had to take a long break. After the injury, he was unable to get back into the squad.
