Josef Rebhan (politician, 1937)

Josef Rebhan (* 1937 in Wellendingen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1980 to 1996 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

Life

Rebhan first learned the trade of mechanic . In his free time he trained as a technician and eventually became a vocational school teacher . Rebhan was one of the founders of the Junge Union in the Rottweil district in 1956 , together with Erwin Teufel and Heiner Geißler . He was friends with Franz Sauter and worked together with Lothar Späth and Manfred Autenrieth . As a result, he took over the chairmanship of the Junge Union in the district and in numerous other functions and offices (district council, CDU district chairman, member of the state parliament, district chairman of the senior citizens 'union to activities in the senior citizens' council). Rebhan was elected member of the state parliament for the CDU for the first time in 1980 and was then a member of parliament for four terms. He was committed to maintaining and promoting Catholic schools, including the Konvikt Rottweil (music and humanistic boarding school of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese ).

Since leaving the state parliament he has been a member of the board of the association of former members of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

Volunteering

Rebhan was chairman of the rural seminary in the parish and co-founder of the local branch of the Catholic labor movement (KAB).

On a regional level, Josef Rebhan was chairman of the Stefanuskreis Rottenmünster and, as a member of the state parliament, was the contact of the CDU state parliamentary group to the Catholic office, which is located in the state as a representative in the state parliament and the state government by the two Catholic bishops. He was also elected to the Central Committee of German Catholics. He also acted as a representative of the relatives in a committee of Catholic old people's and nursing homes nationwide.

Honors

He is an honorary member of the Wellendingen Choral Society and was awarded the title of Knight of the New Year's Eve by Bishop Gebhard Fürst in 2018 .
