Josef Rick

Josef Rick (born April 17, 1912 in Düsseldorf , † December 18, 2001 in Erkelenz ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and secondary school, he passed the assistant examination as a typesetter in 1932 . He then worked as editor, employee of a publishing house and from 1956 to 1977 as press officer of the West German Broadcasting Corporation . He was also deputy editor-in-chief of a weekly newspaper and a freelance journalist. In 1946 he was a co-founder of the CDU in Erkelenz.

He was married and had four children.

MP

From April 20, 1947 to March 8, 1956, Rick was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected directly in the 005 Erkelenz constituency. On March 8, 1956, he resigned during the third term.

From 1946 to 1979 he was a member of the district council of the Erkelenz district and a member of the district council of the Heinsberg district.

Public offices

From November 8, 1948 to December 31, 1971 he was district administrator of the Erkelenz district and, after the regional reform, from January 1, 1972 to October 17, 1979, district administrator of the Heinsberg district .

Others

On July 9, 1969, he was awarded the 1st Class Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and on August 29, 1978 the Great Cross of Merit.
