Josef 'Sepp' Schiffner (born December 11, 1930 in Altaussee , First Republic of Austria ) is a former Austrian and German skier who was active in Nordic skiing . He was a two-time participant in the Winter Olympics and was Austrian and German champion in Nordic combined .

Career

At the Olympic Games in Oslo in 1952 , Schiffner finished nineteenth in the Nordic combined. He also competed in cross-country skiing over 18 kilometers, but only achieved 69th place.

At the Olympic Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1956 , Schiffner took eleventh place in the combined competition.

In 1954 Schiffner moved to Frankfurt / Main for professional reasons and finally applied for German citizenship in May 1956 . At the German Nordic Ski Championships in Altenau in 1957 , Schiffner was German champion in Nordic combined. The win was already his third big success of the season after winning the international ski races in Le Brassus and the FIS week in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .

For the Four Hills Tournament in 1961/62 , Schiffner also started as a special jumper in an international competition. He reached 41st place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and thus 81st place overall. A year later he took part again in the New Year's competition and finished 42nd place.
