Josef Ernst Freiherr von Sensburg (born July 25, 1787 in Bruchsal ; † November 14, 1870 in Heidelberg ; Catholic) was a lawyer and official member of the Baden state service since 1808 , comparable to today's district administrator .

Josef von Sensburg was the son of the state councilor Ernst Philipp Freiherr von Sensburg (* July 1, 1752 in Lonnerstadt ; † July 3, 1831 in Karlsruhe ) and Ernestine Juliane, born Freiin von Adelsheim († March 5, 1842).

Life

Josef von Sensburg studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1803 he became a member of the Corps Rhenania Heidelberg . In 1807 he became a trainee lawyer, where he was employed by the General Forestry Directorate in Karlsruhe. In 1808 he first became an attorney in Karlsruhe and in the same year an accessist to the Chamber College of the Province of the Middle Rhine and the General Forestry Commission in Karlsruhe. He then became a councilor in fiscal matters and, in 1809, a forest councilor. On January 20, 1810, Josef von Sensburg became district councilor in the management of the Odenwald district in Mosbach . In 1811 he became the second district councilor of the Kinzig district in Offenburg . October 13, 1814 he was there Regierungsrat and bailiff. On August 4, 1815, he was also raised to the nobility by the ennoblement of his father and on March 2, 1819 he became city and police director at the Karlsruhe city office . On January 17, 1823 he was appointed Privy Councilor 3rd Class and in 1824 was transferred to the Ministry of the Interior. On May 15, 1824, he was appointed director of the Kinzigkreis and, after its dissolution, on February 18, 1832, he took temporary retirement. The last position of his career was on November 5, 1839, government director of the Seekreis in Konstanz , only to be retired on November 29, 1841.

Sideline

Josef von Sensburg was electoral commissioner for the Lahr district electoral district on November 26, 1830 and in 1838 he was sovereign commissioner at the teaching and education institute in Offenburg .
