Joseph Andreas Lindauer (Czech: Josef Ondřej Lindauer ; born November 29, 1784 in Pilsen , † June 5, 1850 in Budweis ) was Bishop of Budweis .

Life

Joseph Andreas Lindauer was ordained a priest in Prague on August 15, 1807 and then worked as a chaplain in several parishes in the Pilsen region. He later became dean in Přeštice and then archdean in Pilsen. From 1835 he belonged to the Metropolitan Chapter of St. Vitus in Prague.

After the death of Bishop Ernest Konstantin Růžička from Budweis , Ferdinand I , who had the right of nomination in his capacity as Emperor of Austria, appointed Joseph Andres Lindauer as his successor on September 22, 1845.

The papal confirmation of November 25, 1845 by Gregory XVI. This was followed on January 18, 1846 by Archbishop Alois Joseph Schrenck von Notzing's episcopal ordination in Prague's St. Vitus Cathedral and enthroned on February 2, 1846 in Budweis .

After his death he was buried in a simple earth grave in the cemetery of the Church of St. Prokop in Budweis.
