Vlastimil Kročil (born May 10, 1961 in Brno ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Budweis .

Life

After Kročil was not accepted to study at the theological faculty in Litoměřice three times in a row after graduating from high school in 1986 , he emigrated to Italy in 1988, where he studied at the Pontifical Lateran University (1988–1993) and the Pontifical Gregorian University (1993–1996).

Vlastimil Kročil received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Budweis on July 16, 1994 . On March 19, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Budweis. The Archbishop of Prague , Dominik Cardinal Duka OP , donated him episcopal ordination on June 13 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in the Czech Republic, Archbishop Giuseppe Leanza , and his predecessor Jiří Paďour OFMCap .
