Ernest Konstantin Růžička (Czech: Arnošt Konstantin Růžička ; born December 21, 1761 in Tloskov near Neveklov ; † March 18, 1845 in Budweis ) was Bishop of Budweis .

Life

Ernest Konstantin Růžička was ordained a priest on July 15, 1785 in Prague and then worked as Vice Rector, and later as Rector of the General Seminary in Lemberg, then Galicia . On July 20, 1794 he received a canon in Budweis, where he became vicar general of Bishop Johann Prokop von Schaffgotsch on October 12, 1797 . After his death, he headed the Budweiser diocese as administrator during the Sedis vacancy .

Bishop of Budweis

On June 15, 1815, Emperor Franz II , who had the right of nomination, appointed Ernest Konstantin Růžička as Bishop of Budweis. The papal confirmation by Pius VII was followed on August 25, 1816 by the episcopal ordination in the Prague St. Ursula Church ( kostel sv. Voršily ) by Archbishop Wenzel Leopold Chlumčanský of Přestavlk and on September 22, 1816 the enthronement in Budweis .

Růžička held the episcopate for almost thirty years. After his death he was buried in the cemetery of the Church of St. Prokop in Budweis.
