Joseph Cheng Tsai-fa

Joseph Cheng Tsai-fa ( Chinese  鄭 再 發 , Pinyin Zhèng Zàifā ; born July 4, 1932 in Xiamen , Fujian Province , China ) is retired Archbishop of Taipei .

Life

Joseph Cheng Tsai-fa was ordained a priest on December 21, 1957 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tainan on December 3, 1990 . He was ordained episcopate on February 2 of the following year by the retired Bishop of Tainan , Paul Ch'eng Shih-kuang . Co - consecrators were Joseph Ti-kang , Archbishop of Taipei , and Paul Shan Kuo-hsi SJ , Bishop of Kaohsiung .

On January 24, 2004, John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Taipei. Pope Benedict XVI On November 9, 2007, he accepted his resignation due to reasons of age.
