Joseph Molthan

Joseph Molthan (born April 7, 1862 in Mainz ; † May 3, 1920 ibid) was a Hessian wine merchant and politician ( center ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Joseph Molthan was the son of the lawyer Karl Molthan and his wife Barbara, nee Zerbe. Molthan, who was a Catholic, was a wine merchant in Mainz and married Adelheid Wilhelmine nee Meister. He was honored with the title of Commerzienrat .

From 1907 to 1909 he was a city councilor in Mainz. In Mainz he was chairman of the center and the Mainz Merchants Association. From 1897 to 1918 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Rheinhessen 7 / Nieder-Olm .
