Joseph Schorn (politician)

Valentin Joseph Schorn (born April 17, 1856 in Worms-Abenheim ; † August 5, 1927 in Mainz ) was a Hessian politician ( Center Party of Hesse ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse and the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar region Republic .

Family and work

Joseph Schorn was the son of the saddler Valentin Schorn and his wife Appolonia nee Guth. He was married to Gertrud nee Wennesheimer. Joseph Schorn attended the teachers' college in Bensheim and worked as a teacher in Mainz from 1875. He was a co-founder, long-time chairman and most recently honorary chairman of the Catholic teachers' association in Hesse.

Joseph Schorn, who was a Catholic denomination, belonged to the Hessian state parliament from 1919 to 1921 in its first electoral term. In 1918 he had already been a member of the second chamber of the state estates for the constituency of Rheinhessen 7 / Gonsenheim / Nieder-Olm . He had come to the state parliament as a replacement for Josef Molthan .
