Joseph Sinde Warioba

Joseph Sinde Warioba (born September 3, 1940 in Bunda ) was Prime Minister of Tanzania from 1985 to 1990 . He is a member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi party .

Life

His law studies, which Warioba graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in 1966 , he completed at the University of Dar es Salaam . After studying at the Hague Academy for International Law , he first worked for the Foreign Ministry in the Department of International Organizations .

From 1976 until his appointment as Minister of Justice in 1983 he was Attorney General. He held this office until he became Prime Minister in 1985. He then served as Vice-President of his country until 1990; he was also a member of the Tanzanian parliament until 1995. From 1996 to 1999 Warioba was a judge at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg . Since April 2012 he has been the chairman of a 30-person commission to draw up a new Tanzanian constitution.
