Joseph Suren Gomes SDB (born February 14, 1944 in Ashnabad , India ) is an Indian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Krishnagar .

Life

Joseph Suren Gomes entered the religious order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and received on 21 December 1974, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 17 April 2002 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Bishop of Krishnagar . The Archbishop of Calcutta , Lucas Sirkar SDB, donated him episcopal ordination on May 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Shillong , Dominic Jala SDB, and the Archbishop of Guwahati , Thomas Menamparampil SDB.

On April 17, 2019, Pope Francis accepted Joseph Suren Gomes' resignation due to reasons of age.
