Josh Harter (born February 4, 1982 in Pinckney , Michigan , USA ) is an American wrestler who currently mainly fights in New Japan Pro Wrestling and works as a producer for wrestling shows. He is better known by his ring name Chris Sabin .

Career

Beginnings

Harter began wrestling training in his home state of Michigan and made his debut in 2000 under the name Chris Sabin for Border City Wrestling in Ontario , Canada . But he also competed for independent leagues in Michigan.

Total non-stop action wrestling

After his engagement by NWA Total Nonstop Action Wrestling , Harter was allowed to win the TNA X Divisions title of Amazing Red on May 14, 2003 and hold it for over three months. After that, Harter had to cede the title to Michael Shane in an Ultimate X Match .

On January 7, 2004, Harter took part alongside Shane, Christopher Daniels and Low Ki in the second Ultimate X Match of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and was allowed to win the X Divisions title for the second time. At the end of March 2004, however, the title was stripped from him due to a real knee injury.

In December 2004, Harter was able to win a title match against the reigning X Division Champion Petey Williams, which he was not allowed to win.

A win against Shelley at Hard Justice made Harter the No. 1 challenger to the X Divisions title held by Senshi at the time. Although Harter was allowed to win the match at Bound for Glory on October 22, 2006 and achieve the title at short notice, only two weeks later he had to win this title at an edition of TNA iMPACT! return to AJ Styles. But on January 14, 2007 Harter was allowed to win the title again in a triple threat match against Jerry Lynn and Christopher Daniels . Meanwhile, Harter is united in a successful tag team with Alex Shelley . At Victory Road 2010 they won the TNA World Tag Team title against Beer Money Inc., which had been vacant up until then, for the first time.

After an injury break, which Harter incurred in April 2011, he returned to Shelley's side in March 2012. In May 2012 the tag team ended with Alex Shelley because he left TNA. In a match at Impact Wrestling on June 14, 2012, Harter tore another cruciate ligament and was out for several months. At Slammiversary XI on June 2, 2013, he won the TNA X Division Championship for the fifth time after defeating Suicide and previous title holder Kenny King in an Ultimate X Match. Harter lost the title on June 20, 2013 in Impact Wrestling to Austin Aries . Just nine days later, Harter won the title back and then exchanged it for a match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship , which he won on July 18, 2013 from Bully Ray. In the rematch at Hardcore Justice , which took place three weeks later as a cage match, he had to surrender the title back to Bully Ray. At Bound for Glory two months later, Harter won the X-Division Championship for the seventh time.
