Judith Roberts
Judith Anna Roberts (born November 30, 1934 as Judith Anna Lebrecque ) is an American theater and film actress. She is best known for her portrayal of Mary Shaw in the horror film Dead Silence and as Taslitz in the Netflix- produced series Orange Is the New Black .
Life
Judith Roberts was born in 1934. Her first film role was in Minnie and Moskowitz in 1971 . This was followed by several mostly minor roles in films or guest appearances in television series, including two episodes of Law & Order or a supporting role as a neighbor in David Lynch's Eraserhead in 1977. In 1980 she played a singer in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories and sang the song Three Little Words .
However, Roberts only achieved international fame in 2007 as ventriloquist Mary Shaw in the horror film Dead Silence by James Wan . In the same year she also played a judge in the thriller Death Sentence, also produced by Wan . 2014-2016 and again in 2019, she worked as Taslitz in a total of ten episodes of the web series Orange Is the New Black to see what they, together with the ensemble of the series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2015 in the category Best Acting Ensemble in a TV Series - Comedy Award has been. From 2013 to 2016 Roberts played the leading role in the three short films My Day , Last Words and Now , for which she won the ACTRA Award of Excellence for best actress and several other awards.
In 2017, Roberts played the role of the demented mother of the main character Joe (played by Joaquin Phoenix ) in the melodrama A Beautiful Day , for which she received a nomination for best supporting actress at the 2018 National Film Awards UK.
Judith Roberts was married to the American actor Pernell Roberts from 1962 to 1971 and kept his last name even after the divorce.

Judith Roberts starred in the 2013 music video for Justin Timberlakes Mirrors , which shows a couple at different stages of their lives. Robert's scenes represent the last station in which she packs up her deceased husband's belongings and thinks of earlier times.
