Judy Pollock

Judy Pollock , actually Judith Florence Pollock, b. Amoore; (Born June 25, 1940 in Victoria , Australia ) is a former Australian sprinter and middle distance runner .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she won the bronze medal in the 400-meter run behind her compatriot Betty Cuthbert (gold) and the British Ann Packer (silver).

In 1966 she won the gold medal over 440 yards at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston in front of the British Deirdre Watkinson (silver) and the Jamaican Una Morris (bronze) as well as the silver medal over 880 yards behind the Canadian Abby Hoffman (gold) and in front of the British Anne Smith (bronze). She finished fourth over 220 yards.

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she reached the semi-finals over 800 m and was eliminated over 1500 m in the preliminary run.

Four times she was Australian champion over 400 m or 440 yards (1965-1967, 1972) and 800 m or 880 yards (1965-1967, 1972). In 1976 she won the national title over 1500 m.
