Julia Cohen (born March 23, 1989 in Philadelphia ) is a former American tennis player .

Career

Cohen began playing tennis at the age of six and preferred hard courts. She played mostly ITF tournaments in which she won five titles in singles and doubles.

Cohen has failed to qualify for a Grand Slam tournament 19 times . In 2012 she received a wildcard for the main draw of the US Open , but was eliminated in the first round. She achieved her greatest success on the WTA Tour in July 2012 at the Baku Cup when she reached the final. She was defeated there by Bojana Jovanovski from Serbia with 3: 6 and 1: 6.

She played her last match in a main draw in October 2014 at the ITF Women's Circuit . In August 2015, she made another attempt at an ITF tournament; after her failure there in the second round of qualification, however, she has not started again.
