Julija Sergejewna Belorukowa ( Russian Юлия Сергеевна Белорукова ; English Yulia Belorukova ; born January 21, 1995 in Sosnogorsk , Komi Republic ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Belorukowa has been participating in competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2011 . In the 2013/14 season she mainly competed in the Eastern Europe Cup . She won the classic 5 km in Werschina Tjoi and took third place in the overall standings at the end of the season. At the 2014 Junior World Championships in Val di Fiemme , she won silver in the relay and bronze in the sprint. She ran her first World Cup race in March 2014 in Lahti , which she finished with 47th place in the sprint. She got her first World Cup points four days later in Drammen with 25th place in the sprint. At the Russian cross-country skiing championships in 2014 in Tyumen , she won silver in the sprint. In February 2015 she won silver in the sprint at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty . In the 2015/16 season she took 31st place at the Nordic Opening in Ruka and 21st place at the Ski Tour Canada . The 14th place in the sprint stage in Canmore and in the 10.5 km mass start race in Montreal was her best results of the season in the World Cup. In April 2016 she was third in the sprint at the Russian cross-country skiing championships in Tyumen. After finishing 20th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she won her first World Cup victory in the team sprint in Toblach in January 2017 together with Natalja Matwejewa . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti, she and Natalja Matwejewa won the silver medal in the team sprint. She was also tenth in the sprint and fifth in the relay. At the end of the season she came in 22nd place in the overall standings at the World Cup finals in Québec and reached 32nd place in the overall World Cup, 18th place in the Sprint World Cup and second place in the U23 World Cup. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, she finished 14th in the Ruka Triple . With third place in the sprint, she achieved her first podium finish in the individual World Cup. In February 2018, she was fifth in the skiathlon at the U23 World Championships in Goms and won the bronze medal in sprint and relay at the following 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . At the end of the season she came in 29th place at the World Cup finals in Falun and finally finished 29th in the overall World Cup and 19th in the Sprint World Cup.

At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Belorukowa won her first individual World Cup victory in the sprint in Ruka . In the further course of the season she finished 11 times in the top ten in the World Cup and achieved 11th place in the Lillehammer Triple and fifth place in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 . At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol , she won the bronze medal with the relay. Her best placement in the individual races there was 12th place over 10 km classic. At the World Cup final in Québec she came in 50th place and finally reached 12th place in the Sprint World Cup and eighth place in the overall and distance World Cup.
