Julio César Yegros Torres (born January 31, 1971 in Luque ) is a former Paraguayan football player on the position of a striker .
career
societies
Yegros began his professional career at his hometown club Sportivo Luqueño , where he was under contract from 1990 to 1993. In between he had (1992/93) his first assignment abroad with the Argentine club Deportivo Mandiyú . In 1994 he spent with the Paraguayan top club Cerro Porteño , with whom he won the Paraguayan football championship. After another stint abroad at the Colombian club Deportes Tolima , Yegros came to Mexico during the 1995/96 season , where he was largely under contract with the capital club CD Cruz Azul until the summer of 2000 . With the Cementeros he won the Mexican soccer championship and the cup competition once in 1997 and the CONCACAF Champions' Cup twice in a row in 1996 and 1997 . In between he played on loan for the Mexican club Tecos UAG and the most successful club in his home country, Olimpia Asunción , with which he was Paraguayan football champion again in 1999.
In the summer of 2000 he moved to the city rivals UNAM Pumas , with whom the Clásico Chilango is held. His other positions in Mexico were the CF Monterrey , the Jaguares Chiapas , the Club León , the Querétaro FC , the Cajeteros Celaya and the Lagartos de Tabasco . In 2007/08, Yegros ended his active career with his hometown club Club General Díaz .
National team
Between 1991 and 2000, Yegros made a total of 15 international appearances for the Paraguayan national team . The highlight of his international career was his participation in the 1998 World Cup in France , in which he was used in all four Albirroja games .
