Julio Murat (born August 18, 1961 in Karşıyaka , Turkey ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Julio Murat received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of İzmir on May 25, 1986 through Pope John Paul II .

On January 27, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Orange and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in Zambia . He was ordained bishop on March 3rd of the same year by Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone SDB ; Co-consecrators were the Secretary for Relations with States in the Vatican State Secretariat , Archbishop Dominique Mamberti , and the Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop Savio Hon Tai-FaiSDB. On June 6, 2012, Julio Murat also became Apostolic Nuncio in Malawi .

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Cameroon on March 24, 2018 . A few days later he was also appointed nuncio in Equatorial Guinea .
