Jung Chae-yeon (born December 1, 1997 in Suncheon , South Korea ) is a South Korean pop singer and actress . She is a member of the girl group DIA and, after participating in the casting show Produce 101, was a member of the temporary group IOI from 2016 to 2017 .

Life

From 2013 to 2016 Jung attended the School of Performing Arts Seoul ( 서울 공연 예술 고등학교 ), a high school for performing arts. During this time she made her debut as a singer as part of the girl group DIA founded by MBK Entertainment with the release of the album Do It Amazing on September 14, 2015.

Shortly afterwards, Jung took a break from her group to take part in the casting show Produce 101 . When she finally came seventh in the show, she became a member of the temporary girl group IOI . The group's first EP, Chrysalis , was released in May 2016. In September 2016, DIA's second EP Spell was released, for which Jung returned and was active in both groups at the same time. In addition, the tvN series Drinking Solo started in September , in which Jung had a supporting role. In the same month she also appeared in the dance show Hit the Stage together with her DIA group colleague Eun-jin and in the variety show Go Go Mr. Paik! on. Due to the daily music shows in South Korea and the aforementioned appearances, an Ilgan Sports journalist quipped that TV viewers could see Guy's face every day. Since IOI's new EP with the single Very Very Very ( 너무 너무 너무 Neomu Neomu Neomu ) was released in October 2016 , this meant that Jung appeared twice with her two groups on one evening at the Music Bank music show .

In 2017 she played the younger Jung-won in the television series Reunited Worlds . Since February 18, 2018 she is presenter of music show Inkigayo of SBS . In the same month, guys feature film debut in Live Again, Love Again by director Han Sang-hee published. In July 2018, she starred in her first leading television role in the two-part miniseries To.Jennie . She also plays the lead role in 2019 in the Netflix original My very first love ( 첫사랑 은 처음 이라서 , My First First Love ).
