Jung Woo-sung (born April 22, 1973 in Seoul ) is a South Korean actor and director . He was awarded the popularity award three times at the Blue Dragon Awards .

Life

Jung Woo-sung has been an actor since 1994 and has been seen in more than 20 productions so far.

In 2001 Jung took on the lead role in the Korean-Chinese co-production Musa - The Warrior . In the film, he plays a Ming Dynasty slave who frees a Chinese princess (played by Zhang Ziyi ).

In 2004 he played an architect in the famous love film A Moment to Remember who falls in love with a forgetful woman (played by Son Yejin ) and marries her. When her forgetfulness worsens and she see a doctor, it turns out that she suffers from Alzheimer's . Jung's role lovingly takes care of her, but she doesn't want to be a burden for him either. The film was the fifth highest-grossing film of the year in South Korea and gained widespread popularity across Asia, especially Japan.

Jung played the good in the western comedy The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008) and received the Asian Film Award for best supporting actor for his performance .

In 2010, he starred alongside Michelle Yeoh in the kung fu film Dark Stone directed by John Woo .

In 2013, Jung played the antagonist in the thriller Cold Eyes . In it he plays an experienced criminal who organizes bank break-ins.
