Károly Kampmann (born February 13, 1902 in Budapest , † May 4, 1945 in Berlin ) was a German journalist, civil servant and politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

Karoly Kampmann was born in Budapest in 1902 as the son of German parents. In his childhood and youth he attended schools in Dresden , Leipzig and Berlin . He passed his Abitur in 1921. He then studied law at the universities of Berlin and Leipzig . In 1922 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Berlin . He is not listed in the 1960 Kösener corps lists. He then worked as a businessman in his father's export business.

Kampmann became a member of the NSDAP in April 1930. In August 1930 Kampmann took over his first party office in the NSDAP, when he took over duties as cell chairman of the Gneisenau section. After he had proven himself in this position, from April to December 1931 he was entrusted with the post of section leader of the Gneisenau section in the Greater Berlin district.

From August 1931 to March 13, 1933 Kampmann finally acted as Gau propaganda leader of the Greater Berlin Gau. He was in close contact with the Berlin Gauleiter Joseph Goebbels and on January 1, 1933, he was appointed chief editor of the Nazi newspaper The Attack , founded and published by Goebbels , after Goebbels had separated from the former editor Julius Lippert in a dispute. After 15 months at this point, Kampmann, who, according to Goebbels, had "done his thing" as the head of the attack "well", was appointed chief editor of the German express service at the German news office on April 1, 1934 . Hans Schwarz van Berk succeeded him as chief editor of the attack . In addition, from June 1934 he was press manager at the Reich Labor Service (RAD).

From 1932 until the dissolution of this body in autumn 1933, Kampmann was a member of the Prussian state parliament . He then sat from November 1933 until the end of the Nazi regime as a member of constituency 3 (East Berlin) in the National Socialist Reichstag .

In addition, there were a number of honorary posts: Kampmann was head of the Berlin regional association in the Reich Association of the German Press (RDP). He was a member of the Small Leader Council and a member of the Reich Committee in the RDP. He was also a member of the board of directors and chairman of the training management of the Reich Press School of the RDP and Vice President of the German Press Club. Furthermore, he was head of the press and propaganda office of the Reichsleitung of the Reichsarbeitsdienst as well as honorary Gauarbeitsführer, assessor of the film inspection agency and permanent member of the Reich Chamber of Labor .

Kampmann became General Labor Leader in 1943 and headed the press and propaganda office of the Reich Labor Leader in Berlin.
