history

König was not mentioned before 1830 and was probably a split from the Werdener Hof Katernberg . The place is marked on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as Schonberge and on the Prussian first survey from 1843 it is unmarked.

The Hofschaft was at the limit of 1867 by the mayor Haan cleaved mayoralty Sonnborn , the 1888 territorial concessions to the City of Elberfeld in Vohwinkel was renamed to the Dorper rotting in the Oberbürgermeisterei Elberfeld . In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province from 1888, a house with 20 inhabitants is given. With the municipal reform of 1929, the city of Vohwinkel was incorporated with König into the newly founded city of Wuppertal.
