history

Am Hagen was first mentioned in 1677 as Kotten . In the early modern period, the farm belonged to the Honschaft and Parish of Sonnborn in the Bergisches Amt of Solingen . On the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715, the farm is shown as a.Hagen . The place is marked on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey from 1843 as Hagen .

In 1677, for tax reasons, a survey of the Sonnborn community was made. There an area of ​​the equivalent of 2 hectares and 30.3 ares is given for Am Hagen . In 1830 the estate had an area equivalent to 5 hectares and 91.78 ares. At that time twelve residents lived in the place.
