Køge Bugt Motorvejen at the Køge Nordbahnhof, which is under construction | |
The Køge Bugt Motorvejen is a motorway in the southwest of the Danish capital Copenhagen . It represents the connection between the Øresund and the Vest - / Sydmotorvejen (the two crossings of the Great Belt ) and is therefore part of the bird flight route and therefore of cross-border importance. It is very busy, on some days it has up to 120,000, but sometimes only 50,000 vehicles a day. The road is part of the M10 and the European roads E20 , E47 and E55 .
State of development
The first section was expanded to 3 strips in each direction by 2004. From MK Ishøj to Greve Nord was expanded to 5 lanes in 2009, from MK Greve Nord to Greve Syd to 4 lanes. The expansion of the remaining route is planned.
history
The road was built in seven stages. Apart from the section MK Avedøre-Vallensbæk Syd, which was opened with 2 lanes, it was almost completely built with 3 lanes, one stage even with 4 lanes. In 1980 the last section was opened to traffic.
