Kōki Mizuno ( Japanese. 水 野 晃 樹 , Mizuno Kōki ; born September 6, 1985 in Shimizu (today: Shizuoka ), Shizuoka Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese football player on the position of midfielder .
Kōki Mizuno is the brother of Kazuki Mizuno and the cousin of Keita Suzuki .
Career
society
Mizuno began his career in his high school soccer team in Shimizu, where he played until 2004. That year, JEF United signed the right midfielder Ichihara Chiba . He finished the first two seasons with the club in fourth place. After an eleventh place in 2006 and a 13th place in 2007, he turned his back on his homeland and moved to Europe and signed a contract with Celtic Glasgow .
In his first season 2007/08 Mizuno was not used. He made his debut in the 2008/09 season against Motherwell FC on November 8, 2008, when he came on for Scott McDonald in the 88th minute . He scored his first league goal on December 21, 2008 against FC Falkirk , after work by compatriot Shunsuke Nakamura . At the end of the season, the Scottish League Cup was won.
National team
Internationally, Mizuno has played four times for his home country Japan . He made his debut on March 24, 2007 in a friendly against Peru . He came on in the 84th minute for Naohiro Takahara . The game in Tokyo ended 2-0. He also took part in the 2007 Asian Football Championship in Indonesia , Malaysia , Thailand and Vietnam . The midfielder played in the group matches against the UAE and host Vietnam . In both games he was substituted on, but was no longer used in the course of the tournament. Japan finished fourth.
