KHL West Conference

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The West Conference is one of the two conferences in ice hockey of the Continental Hockey League in Russia. This is divided into the Bobrow Division and the Tarassow Division .

history

The Western Conference was founded for the 2009/10 season after the KHL decided to divide the four divisions according to regional criteria instead of - as in their premiere season according to their skill level. In addition to determining the playoff finalists for each conference, the KHL All-Star Game also features the best players in the Western Conference against the best players in the Eastern Conference.

Playoff mode

The winners of the two divisions and the six best remaining teams in the conference advance to the playoffs. In these, the playoff winner of the conference is determined, who then competes against the master of the Eastern Conference in the playoff final for the Gagarin Cup , the championship trophy of the KHL.
