government

According to official counts, the Jaakson government was the 13th government of the Republic of Estonia since independence was declared in 1918. It remained in office for 365 days.

After the failed coup attempt by the Estonian communists, which was bloodily suppressed on December 1, 1924, Jaakson formed a government of national unity for one year. The minority government of the former State Elder Friedrich Karl Akel resigned on December 2, 1924 for this purpose.

The Jaakson government consisted of representatives from Eesti Rahvaerakond (Estonian People's Party, ER), Põllumeeste Kogud (Association of Farmers, PK), Kristlik Rahvaerakond (Christian People's Party, KRE), Eesti Tööerakond (Estonian Labor Party, ETE) and the Eesti Sotsiaaldemokraatlik Party (Estonian Social Democratic Labor Party, ESDTP).
