Cabinet Ludovic Orban I
The Ludovic Orban I cabinet was the government of Romania formed by Ludovic Orban on November 4, 2019 . On February 5, 2020, it was voted out of office by a vote of no confidence and dissolved on March 14, 2020. This was followed by the Ludovic Orban II cabinet, made up of identical ministers
history
On October 10, 2019, the government under Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă was voted out of parliament by a vote of no confidence. Until a new government takes office, Dăncilă will continue to run the business on a temporary basis. On October 15, 2019 , President Klaus Johannis commissioned PNL chairman Ludovic Orban to form a new cabinet . On November 4, 2019, he was elected Prime Minister of Romania . Parliament approved the new cabinet with 240 votes. That was seven votes more than required. The minority government depends on the support of other parliamentary parties for future legislative initiatives.
At the beginning of February 2020, the government fell through a vote of no confidence by the PSD . Three weeks after the fall of the government, President Klaus Iohannis tasked Finance Minister Florin Cîțu with forming a new government. However, the Romanian Prime Minister-designate Florin Cîțu withdrew his candidacy on March 12, 2020 a few hours before the parliamentary vote.
On March 14, 2020, the parliament expressed its confidence in the old and new government under Prime Minister Ludovic Orban in a fast-track process. Parliament approved the new cabinet with 286 votes. There were 23 votes against.
