Cabinet Ponta IV

The Ponta IV cabinet was the fourth Romanian government formed by Victor Ponta .

history

Since December 17, 2014, the government consisted of members of the Partidul Social Democrat (PSD), the Partidul Conservator (PC), the Partidul Liberal Reformator (PLR) - a spin-off from the Partidul Național Liberal - and the PSD spin-off Uniunea Națională pentru Progresul României (UNPR) and non-party. It was confirmed by Parliament on December 15, 2014 with 377 votes in favor, 134 against and sworn in by the President, replacing the Ponta III cabinet . On June 19, 2015, the two coalition parties PC and PLR merged to form Alianța Liberalilor și Democraților (ALDE). On November 4, 2015, she resigned as a whole as a result of the fire disaster in Bucharest on October 30, 2015 and public protests against corruption. Then President Klaus Johannis appointed the previous Minister of Education Sorin Cîmpeanu as interim head of government. On November 17, 2015, the Cioloș cabinet replaced the old government.
