Shehu IV cabinet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Shehu IV cabinet was a government of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania , formed on July 14, 1966 by Prime Minister Mehmet Shehu of the Party of Labor of Albania PPSh (Partia e Punës e Shqipërisë) . It replaced the Shehu III cabinet and remained in office until November 20, 1970, after which it was replaced by the Shehu V cabinet .

The government reshuffle followed the parliamentary elections of July 10, 1966. All ministers were already in the previous cabinet. The reduction by several offices had already taken place: As of January 1, 1965, the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Geology was split up; in the first months of 1966 the offices of the First Deputy Chairmen of the Council of Ministers were dissolved and the number of Deputy Chairs of the Council of Ministers has been reduced. The cabinet remained stable over the four-year term in office. The Cultural Revolution adopted by the People's Republic of China had no influence on the party apparatus in Albania, which strictly controlled the movement. The dissolution of the Ministry of Justice in September 1966 was part of this cultural revolution.
