Cabinet Wohleb I

The Wohleb I cabinet formed the state government of Baden from July 24 / August 6, 1947 to January 5, 1948 . This cabinet was the first based on the constitution of the state of Baden , which was adopted in a referendum on May 18, and was responsible to the state parliament, also elected on May 18. The State Secretariat Wohleb , which had been replaced by the cabinet , resigned on May 10, 1947 with effect from May 17, but remained in office until August 6.

Although the BCSV received an absolute majority of votes and mandates in the Baden state elections in 1947 (May 18), a coalition government was formed with the SPD on August 6, 1947 (Wohleb I cabinet), as the military government wanted the Social Democrats to participate put. A grand coalition including the Democratic Party failed because of the dispute over the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Due to differences in the question of land reform , the Social Democratic ministers resigned on December 27, 1947 and the Wohleb II cabinet took office on January 23, 1948 .
